Spring is in full swing in Berks County, and April brings plenty of exciting events to explore. From festivals and antique markets to live comedy, family-friendly activities, and seasonal celebrations, there are many ways to get out and enjoy the month. Check out some of the upcoming events happening throughout Reading and Berks County this April.

 

April 4: Bockbier Fest


Location: Reading Liederkranz
What’s Happening: Celebrate spring at the annual Bockbier Fest featuring the traditional Goat Parade, live music, food, and of course plenty of beer. Guests can enjoy the release of rich, flavorful bock beer—a strong German lager traditionally brewed in winter and served in spring—along with the venue’s regular menu and weekly specials.

 

April 4: Easter Egg-spress


Location: Colebrookdale Railroad
What’s Happening: Celebrate Easter aboard a festive train excursion the whole family will enjoy. Children will receive a Colebrookdale Railroad–themed Velveteen Rabbit coloring book with crayons and can participate in a delightful egg hunt in the railyard. April 10: Jerry Seinfeld Live


Location: Santander Performing Arts Center
What’s Happening: Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld brings his stand-up tour to Reading. Known for creating the iconic television series Seinfeld with Larry David, Seinfeld continues to perform internationally and produce acclaimed projects including Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and the Emmy-nominated film Unfrosted.

 

April 18: Berks History Day


Location: Berks County Heritage Center
What’s Happening: Celebrate America’s 250th with exhibits from nearly 20 Berks County museums and historic sites. The day includes hands-on activities, interactive displays, and fun experiences for visitors of all ages.

 

April 18: Coming Out of Hibernation


Location: Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, Pennsylvania
What’s Happening: Welcome spring with a lively community celebration featuring local crafts, shopping, live performances, and delicious food. Guests can also help wake Bearianne from her winter hibernation during this fun seasonal tradition.

 

April 18: Berks Earth Day


Location: Reading City Park
What’s Happening: This annual Earth Day celebration highlights Native American music, art, history, and cultural demonstrations while promoting environmental awareness and community engagement.

 

April 24–26: Renninger’s Antiques Extravaganza

 

Location: Renninger’s Kutztown (April 24–25) & Renninger’s Adamstown (April 26)
What’s Happening: Since 1975, Renninger’s Antiques Extravaganza has brought together antique dealers, collectors, and shoppers to buy, sell, and trade antiques, collectibles, vintage goods, and repurposed items. Vendors set up under pavilions, tents, and outdoor markets, with Adamstown serving as the final shopping destination featuring hundreds of booths.

 

April 25: Iron Pour + Fire Arts Festival


Location: GoggleWorks Center for the Arts
What’s Happening: Experience a dynamic celebration of fire and creativity featuring live demonstrations in glassblowing, metal casting, blacksmithing, and ceramics firing. This family-friendly festival includes hands-on workshops, art, food, music, and spectacular evening displays of glowing furnaces and molten metal.

 

April 25: Craft Pretzel & Beer Festival


Location: Penn Ave, West Reading
What’s Happening: Celebrate Berks County’s pretzel-making heritage while sampling craft beers from regional breweries. Tickets include a tasting glass, three hours of unlimited tastings, and plenty of local pretzels, while restaurants throughout the area offer creative pretzel-inspired dishes.

 

April 25: Spring Blossom Baby Animal Festival


Location: Weaver’s Orchard
What’s Happening: Celebrate spring surrounded by adorable baby animals and beautiful orchard views. Meet baby lambs, chicks, goats, mini Highland cows, alpacas, and bunnies while enjoying a day of family-friendly fun. Guests can pet animals, take photos, and enjoy activities throughout the orchard including hayrides, an apple cannon, and kid-friendly games. This is a limited-ticket event that is expected to sell out. Event is rain or shine.
