March 4: Knitting & Crochet Club


Location: WCR Center for the Arts
What’s Happening: Whether you’re a beginner just picking up a hook or needles, or an experienced maker, this club is the perfect place to connect, create, and share. All makers are welcome — bring any craft you enjoy, from embroidery and weaving to sketching or beading.

 

 

March 5: Museum After Dark – Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks


Location: Reading Public Museum
What’s Happening: Enjoy a relaxed 21+ evening exploring the museum after hours with food and drink options, hands-on activities for adults, special programs and lectures, and a laid-back atmosphere for discovery and fun.

 

March 8: Pennsylvania’s Birthday Open House


Location: Daniel Boone Homestead
What’s Happening: Kick off the 2026 season with an open house and living history event featuring eighteenth-century demonstrations, trades, and hands-on activities celebrating William Penn’s founding of Pennsylvania.

 

March 8: Pennsylvania’s Birthday Living History Event


Location: Conrad Weiser Homestead
What’s Happening: The largest living history event of the year includes Divine Service, French and Indian War and Revolutionary War units, military history discussions, demonstrations of drills and firing, exhibits in the Visitors Center, and more. 

 

March 12: Caliente Night


Location: Cheers Bistro at the DoubleTree
What’s Happening: Enjoy a delicious Latin buffet, one special drink, a dance party, and Bachata lessons. A dance-only option is also available. Reservations encouraged.

 

March 14: St. Patrick’s Party


Location: Reading Liederkranz
What’s Happening: Celebrate with an all-you-can-eat Irish buffet at 6 pm, followed by musical entertainment from the Malarkey Brothers from 7–11 pm.

 

March 15: Chili Cook-Off 


Location: West Reading
What’s Happening: Sample over 20 different chilis at participating businesses and vote for your favorite. Registration and scorecard pick-up is at The Art Room, with drop-off at 3rd and Spruce. Limited to 200 participants, rain or shine.

 

March 17: PA German Barn Star Lecture & Tour


Location: Meet at Kutztown University
What’s Happening: Join Patrick Donmoyer for a lecture, Q&A, traditional scherenschnitte barn star activity, lunch, and an afternoon bus tour. Registration required by calling 610-378-1844.

 

March 19–29: Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest


Location: Various venues throughout the Greater Reading area
What’s Happening: This annual festival brings world-renowned jazz musicians to Berks County with over 130 free and ticketed events spanning Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, R&B, and more.

 

March 28: Easter on the Farm


Location: PA German Cultural Heritage Center
What’s Happening: Celebrate Pennsylvania Dutch Easter traditions with egg hunts, children’s activities, crafts, hearth cooking demonstrations, artisans, folklife exhibits, and more. Free family event.

 

March 28: Egg-cellent Eggs


Location: Gring’s Mill Recreation Area
What’s Happening: Discover fun facts about eggs from birds, insects, and reptiles, learn to identify nests, dissect an egg, meet cold-blooded egg layers, and enjoy a non-competitive egg hunt afterward. Best for families with children ages 5+.
